Summer Camp

Our YMCA Summer Camp Program is all about learning new skills, making new friends, developing character, and creating life-long, fun-filled memories!  At the Alamance County YMCA, we offer multiple Summer Camp options:

• CAMP HORIZONS is located at the ACYMCA.  This camp is for rising 1st grade through 6th graders.  A typical day at Horizons includes sports in the gym, arts, and crafts, swimming in our indoor pool, outdoor play at the city park, and more.

• CAMP FRONTIER is located in Snow Camp. This camp is for rising 1st - rising 8th graders. This is a more traditional outdoor camp, with activities including canoeing, hiking trails, swimming in the outdoor pool, archery, fishing, tennis, arts and crafts, sports, and more.

• KINDER CAMP *NEW CAMP* Located at the YMCA, Kinder Camp is for campers starting Kindergarten in August 2025. Campers will participate in developmentally appropriate activities for their age group. Activities will include arts and crafts, STEM, outdoor play, swimming, and social emotional learning. Space is limited.
• SPORTS CAMPS are located at Camp Horizons or at Camp Frontier, depending on the session! This camp is for children 6 - 14 years of age. More information on these camps is COMING SOON!

• LEADERS IN TRAINING (LIT) is for teenagers (rising 9th-grade and 10th-graders) and is designed to provide opportunities to develop and sharpen leadership skills.  This is a perfect opportunity to grow as a leader, observe counselors, work with children, and become exposed to employment for the first time. Requires completion of the application process.

Y Summer Camps are offered in one-week sessions.  You can register for all summer or simply choose the session dates you need. Each week of camp registration requires the payment of a non-transferable and non-refundable $20 deposit.
