One of the pillars of our organization is to promote Healthy Living. That's why five years ago we started serving healthy snacks to our After School students and two years ago we established a full Food Access Program, where we serve healthy, warm dinners. Through the vision and support of grant funding and generous private support, we have seen this program grow and blossom (to include multiple distribution centers and a Food Access van). We now serve an average of 330 snacks and 330 hot dinners each day at 7 different afterschool locations. We are looking at doubling these numbers to 13 sites and over 600 meals a day. By the end of this school year, we will have served over 120,000 meals. It is our goal/plan to add 2 additional sites in the next 2 months to serve an additional 50 youth, bringing our total to 9 sites and 380 meals per day by the spring. The long term goal is to add 2-3 weekend feeding sites in low income areas.
